Responsibilities:
- Patient Care Support
- Greet and prepare patients for exams, including taking medical histories and recording vital signs
- Assist providers during examinations and minor procedures
- Administer injections, immunizations, and perform EKGs
- Collect and process specimens (blood, urine, swabs)
- Clinical & Administrative Duties
- Document patient information accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Schedule appointments, manage referrals, and coordinate follow-up care
- Maintain exam rooms, equipment, and supplies to ensure readiness
- Monitor patient flow to maximize efficiency in a busy practice
- Communication & Education
- Provide clear instructions to patients regarding procedures, medications, and follow-up care
- Support patient advocacy and ensure respectful, compassionate interactions
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and administrative staff
Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA)
- Prior experience in internal medicine or primary care preferred
- Strong knowledge of clinical workflows and EMR systems
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
- Commitment to patient-centered care and teamwork
